Winter is upon us. The days are cold and the nights are colder. Spare a thought for the many animals that don't have any shelter or warmth, and the many that will perish in the cold...young lambs especially. For introduced animals, family, farm or (so called) feral, the Australian climate may be a killer. Let's work towards a world where such threats to animals are minimised or eliminated. AJP Victoria Committee of Management Elections 2015

The AJP Victoria Committee of Management will be holding its elections in the month. Below is a statement from the Returning Officer (Justine Curatolo) about the upcoming AJP Victoria Committee election. BALLOT PERIOD Voting will open on 14th June at 9 am and close on 4th July 2.30 pm.  ELIGIBILITY TO VOTE All financial members of the Animal Justice Party residing in Victoria are eligible to vote. (Membership roll as of 11th May 2015). Eligible voters will receive an email on the 14th June with the link to OpaVote. OpaVote is a secure online voting system, accessible from all smart phones, ipads and other computer devices. CANDIDATES All candidate profiles are available in the link below. There will also be a Q & A session with all candidates at the AJP National Conference in Abbotsford, 4th July at 1.30 pm. The Q&A session will be available to all free of charge, but if you would like to attend the full conference, tickets can be purchased here. NSW Election - The Animals Win It!

Not only did we win concessions from the major parties leading in to the NSW election, but after the 'button was pushed' today to see the final voter preferences counted and distributed, we won a seat in the Legislative Council (upper house), electing Mark Pearson. Continue reading
