Help Craig win Macnamara in the Federal Election 2019!
SEAT OF MACNAMARA
Craig grew up in the Melbourne suburb of Bentleigh, and now resides in the beachside suburb in the City of Port Phillip Council, sharing a home with three other animal-loving humans and two rescue cats - ‘Tempeh’ and ‘Tofu’.
Craig is a qualified electrician and has been in the trade for over 10 years. It seems to run in the family as his father, brother, and two uncles are also electricians.
Craig has regularly put the pliers and screwdrivers down to follow his heart and work at Australia’s leading farm animal sanctuary - Edgar’s Mission - home to over 300 rescued animals which is set on 153 acres near Lancefield, in the Shire of Macedon Ranges, Victoria. Craig also volunteers with many other not-for-profit organisations and charities such as Sea Shepherd and The Coalition Against Duck Shooting. He is driven to create a kinder and just world for all beings, and to protect the environment that houses them all.
Craig is a lover of sports and a long-distance runner, mostly on the trails and in the mountains. He ran his first marathon at the Melbourne Marathon in 2014, and endeavours to run an ultra marathon in the near future.
Vegan since 2014, Craig is actively involved with the animal rights community and shares the Animal Justice Party’s values of kindness, equality, rationality and non-violence on matters relating to both human and non-human animals.
Craig has particular interest in, but not limited to: ending the live-animal export trade; legislating the protection of Australia’s national animal emblem - the kangaroo - to rapidly phase out their killing; to introduce policies for habitat protection and the cessation of land clearing associated with animal agriculture; and to maximise gainful employment while phasing out jobs that rely on exploitation of animals and promoting growth in sustainable animal-friendly industries.
