Naomi Adams - Corangamite
CANDIDATE FOR CORANGAMITE
Originally from Melbourne, Naomi Adams has lived in the Western Region for over 10 years and enjoys the community atmosphere and beautiful environment. She lives with her senior dog Roxy, and when possible, fosters other animals. Naomi is a psychologist and has worked as a counsellor in community health on the Bellarine Peninsula for nine years, and more recently in private practice in Geelong.
Naomi is passionate about both animal and human rights and welfare, as well as the environment. She is heavily involved in various forms of animal and human rights advocacy and activism. She enjoys spending time at the beach, doing yoga, seeing live music, reading and dabbling in amateur photography, especially capturing the human-animal bond.
Naomi was vegetarian for 30 years before becoming vegan and becoming more involved in animal rights in 2017. She is a member and an active volunteer with the AJP Victoria Western Region group and ran as a candidate for the Bellarine ward in the 2017 City of Greater Geelong Council election and the 2018 Victorian State Election.
Naomi believes we urgently need an Independent Animal Protection Agency, an end to the cruel greyhound racing industry, and must ensure Victoria finally joins other states and puts an end to the barbaric duck shooting season. As a priority Naomi also wants to see a total ban on the toxic bait Sodium Monofluoroacetate (1080 poison), to prevent the torturous death of wildlife and domestic animals occurring all around the country.
