Help Kim Dutton get elected: East Gippsland Shire 2020
KIM DUTTON - EAST GIPPSLAND SHIRE
Kim is standing for East Gippsland Shire.
Kim Dutton is a kind, caring and compassionate person who wants the best for everyone. She is a mother of three with a background in accounting and horticulture. Kim has been living in East Gippsland Shire for seven years and believes that her strong values and a firm belief in equality and justice make her highly suited to represent community interests.
Kim is no stranger to abuse and hardship and as a result, she understands the immense value of community support and the importance of providing protection to anyone in need - animals included. She recognises the wonderful role companion animals play in many people’s lives and is committed to leading initiatives that will provide affordable de-sexing, reduced euthanasia rates and animal-friendly public spaces for the community.
The challenges she has personally overcome have encouraged her to do more for both animals and the environment and Kim has spent many hours volunteering her time in various organisations.
“I am standing as an Animal Justice Party candidate to raise awareness on how we can thoughtfully engage with the natural world and bring this perspective to East Gippsland Shire Council.”
Kim is advocating for the installation of a sprinkler system along Mitchell River to help the flying fox colony survive hot summers; implementing a local directory of wildlife carers to expedite the rescue of injured animals; declaration of a Climate Emergency; protecting biodiversity and minimising pollution, and, Meals-on-Wheels provisions for animals that are in the care of the elderly.
“If elected, my decision making will be guided by the Party core values of kindness, rationality, equality and non-violence, which I share.”
