Marcia Simons Candidate for Mill Park

Marcia has lived in the northern metropolitan region for 45 years and currently lives in Mill Park.  Her professional history consists of many roles within the disability field, private counselling and 11 years in Local Government.

Her passion for animal welfare stems back to her childhood, but in the last few years she has become particularly concerned with issues relating to factory farming practices and their environmental impact, live animal export, and wildlife habitat being taken by urban development without concern for animal welfare, including the kangaroos in Epping and Mernda being trapped in pockets of land without water or food.

As a candidate she will represent all animals - farmed, wild and domestic, and campaign for the establishment of an Independent Animal Protection Agency, as well as the education of the community into the impact of human choices on the environment.
