Miranda Smith is the candidate for Melbourne
Miranda believes all animals have the right to live their life free from emotional and physical pain and should never be used for human consumption, entertainment, sport or as a commodity. She believes it is our obligation to stand up for animals and be their voice and fight for their right to live without pain and suffering. Miranda also believes the three key ways to make positive changes for animals is through increased public education and awareness, through the adoption of animal friendly policies and through new and improved animal protection laws.
Miranda has obtained a Bachelor of Management (Marketing) and Masters in Marketing and has over eight years senior management experience within the healthcare sector.
Miranda currently volunteers as Marketing Manager for the Animal Justice Party in Victoria and has been a Working Group Member with the Coalition for the Protection of Racehorses since mid 2014. She has previously volunteered with Viva in the UK and as an Accredited Phone Counsellor with Lifeline.
Miranda stood as a candidate for Richmond in the 2014 state election.
