Naomi Adams Candidate for Bellarine Ward City of Greater Geelong

Naomi Adams
Candidate for the Bellarine Ward City of Greater Geelong

Originally from Melbourne, I have lived in Ocean Grove for 10 years and enjoy the community atmosphere and beautiful environment.  I live with my dog Roxy, and my partner also resides on the Bellarine.

I want to ensure we look after the people, the animals and the environment within the municipality. I believe as councillor I could effectively support the council and the community to implement the 'Clever and Creative Future' plan which is in line with many of my values, including community connection and care; celebrating diversity; and balancing growth and infrastructure with environmental sustainability.

I believe I have the values, vision, skills and characteristics required to represent the Bellarine community, to give a voice to the people and the animals, and address local issues to affect significant change.

With qualifications in social welfare and psychology, I have worked as a counsellor in community health on the Bellarine for 8 years. I am passionate about the Bellarine, and ensuring we have a healthy, vibrant community that feels connected to the City of Greater Geelong. I will work with the community to ensure the Bellarine residents' needs are represented. I am committed to human rights and social justice, animal welfare and rights, and the environment.

I will advocate for increased support to Geelong Animal Welfare Society (GAWS) and improved animal regulation practices, to address Geelong's record of the highest number of animal cruelty reports in Victoria. I will advocate for environmental projects, and for the mental and physical well-being of all residents of the Bellarine community, including health and social/community services and adequate infrastructure (including transport), in harmony with balancing the community atmosphere, natural environment and open spaces.

I encourage the residents of the Bellarine to get in touch with me, ask any questions you have, and let me know what issues are most important to you. You can contact me by emailing me at
