Rod Whitfield is a writer and long-time animal lover, gives to many animal charities, and along with his ex-partner Prue, he rescued a grand total of seven old dogs and one cat over a 12 year period. Born at Diamond Valley Hospital, he spent the first eight years of his life in Bundoora before moving out to a tiny country town in the Wimmera/Mallee called Donald. From there, he lived in just about every corner of Victoria before settling back in Melbourne in 1998.
Rod has been an active campaigner in the Getup! organisation for four years, having taken a major volunteering and campaigning part in the 2016 Federal election, the Stop Adani, Marriage Equality, anti-live export and cage egg campaigns.
