Fiona grew up on a sheep and cattle station and witnessed first-hand the suffering of animals. This experience shaped her passion to provide a voice for all animals big and small.
Fiona works at Melbourne University as a records analyst (systems) and holds professional qualifications in records management and training and assessment. In 2014 Fiona decided to run as a candidate for the Animal justice Party. Since then she has stood as a candidate on numerous occasions in both State and Federal elections.
Fiona has been a vegan for several years and believes that through collaboration, education and changes to legislation we can bring about significant change for all non-human sentient beings
Fiona believes that the establishment of a Independent Office of Animal Welfare in Victoria is essential to represent the welfare of animals and show leadership in the protection of animals. She is a strong advocate for the ending of duck shooting and greyhound racing in Victoria. Fiona would also campaign on the compulsory use of “Silent Fireworks” at all events to prevent unnecessary distress to animals and to assist in the prevention of runaway and lost companion animals.
